DIY Easy Fabric Basket

Today I'm sharing a simple tutorial: The Mix and Match Fabric Basket. Useful as a pocket organizer, to organize your sewing supplies, or for the pleasure of cute DIY storage.

Here are the stepbystep instructions to make the bowling bag we came up for our last workshop, just like we promised! Don’t panic, although it may not look like it, it’s really easy. If you’re patient, you can make it in an afternoon. You can even finish up the last step while watching your favorite TV show. You can make it however you like, with two inside pockets, shorten the handles, play around with different fabrics... have fun!

For us, back to school means new pencil pouches and trapper keepers so we are hooking you up the perfect fall pouch project. This tote is simple, chic, and DOES NOT REQUIRE SEWING. I’ve been getting by without a sewing machine (though it is a goal of mine to get one and tame the beast) and have happily found that you guys really enjoy my no sew tutorials, so I’ll keep them coming :).

This tote was made pretty much exactly the same way as my no sew tote bag, only this one is bigger and roomier for all those beach day supplies. Plus, these handles are made with nautical rope and I used a new technique for attaching them to the bag, which I’m really excited to share!

When I first set out to make this tote bag, I did some research to see what kind of no sew tutorials were out there, and to my surprise there weren’t many at all that I came across. So if you’re in the I-don’t-have-a-sewing-machine camp like I am or have a general interest in not using a sewing machine, then hopefully this DIY will help you out!
