Supplies:

- 2 rectangles of fabric, 50 x 26 cm (hems provided)
- 2 circles of fabric, 16 cm in diameter
- 1 strip of fabric, 7.5 cm x 50 cm (optional if your bag doesn't have a decorative strip at the bottom, like mine)
- 1 m of ribbon or cord
- Thread that matches your fabric
- A sewing machine
- A tape measure

Difficulties:
- sewing along a curved line
- sewing buttonholes with a machine

Step 1: Prepare the fabric strip
Take your fabric strip and fold it over the entire length, approximately 1 cm wide, to form a hem. Pin and iron.

Step 2: Sew the fabric strip

- Remove the pins.

- Place your strip of fabric edge to edge on the outer fabric rectangle of your kit.

- Lift your strip of fabric while keeping the folded part marked with the iron and pin this part to the rectangle of fabric.

- Sew along the line formed by the ironed fold.
- Then sew the bottom of the strip, folding it over the outer fabric rectangle.

Step 3

Take the fabric circles and, in each one, trace a 15 cm diameter circle.

Step 4: Make the lining

- Take the second fabric rectangle, which is intended for the inside of the bag, and take the circle
that goes with it.

- Pin the circle edge to edge along one of the long sides of the rectangle and sew along the line forming the 15 cm diameter circle drawn in step 3. Be careful: the pieces of fabric must be placed right sides together!

- Then sew the two short sides of the rectangle that are side by side. Your lining is complete.

Step 5: Make the outside of the bag

Follow the same steps as for the lining:
- Take the rectangle of fabric that will be the outside of the bag and the circle that goes with it.

- Pin the circle edge to edge along one of the long sides of the rectangle and sew on the line forming the 15 cm diameter circle drawn in step 3. Caution: you must place the pieces of fabric right sides together!

- Next, sew the two short sides of the rectangle together. The exterior of your bag is finished.

Step 6

Correctly place the lining inside the bag.

Step 7

Fold the top edges of the bag and its lining inward, then pin and sew.

Step 8: The Ribbon or Cord

- Place the bag flat on the table.
- 2 cm from the top edge, at a height corresponding to the width of the ribbon, mark the holes for the ribbon to be inserted through 7 times at 4 cm intervals.
- On the other side of the bag, add 5 more holes.

- Using the sewing machine, make buttonholes on the 12 marked locations then cut the line inside each one.

- Then pass your ribbon alternately through the holes.
