I've been meaning to make nice shopping bags for about two years, and I finally sat down yesterday afternoon and did it. I wanted something beautiful to carry all the groceries and these are way better than the crumpled paper sacks I've been using.
I made each bag with less than 1/3 of a yard of fabric. I used some upholstery scraps that I had in my cabinet, so I didn't have to buy anything!
Remember you can make this for a quilt block,pillow, quilt or whatever you want just trim the scraps to be the size that you want it to be! It doesn't have to be a Mug Rug.

These 8” Spiderweb Blocks are easy to make and are a great way to use up tiny scraps. Creative Daisy did a great tutorial on making piping, though I’d already made mine by the time I saw it. However, the zipper foot she used was different to the zipper foot that gets bundled in with lots of machines so I wanted to show you it was still possible if you have the regular kind of foot.
