SnapPap Wallet Tutorial

SnapPap Wallet Tutorial

Sewing a Wallet from SnapPap. Snap Wallet made out of washable paper (snappap). Leather' Kraft Tex Wallet - Tutorial. Quick and Easy Kraft Wallet Project.

Materials

SnapPap (approx.)
Fabric paint
Stamp
Matching thread
One plastic snap fastener from Snaply or Prym
Vario pliers and matching attachment
Wonder Clips
Scissors

You can find the wallet pattern here: Wallet Pattern

Here's how:

Print the SnapPap strips with fabric paint and let them dry. Depending on the paint manufacturer, drying can take anywhere from a few hours to a few days. After drying, heat-set the paint with an iron. If this is done too soon, the paint will come off.

Print the pattern in its original size, cut it out, and trace it onto the SnapPap. Transfer all markings.

After the pattern pieces are cut out, the lines are carefully folded so that one line is always folded outwards and the next one inwards. It looks like this:

The second piece is folded slightly along the dotted line and inserted into the larger piece. The right side should be facing outwards. The smaller piece is sewn to the larger piece at two folds, specifically the ones that point outwards. These are secured with Wonder Clips. Pins would leave holes.

To sew on the inner part, all outer pieces that are in the way must be folded forward and backward. If this creates deep creases, they can be smoothed out afterward by ironing. (Because SnapPap can be ironed :-))

Sew from the outside as far as you can reach. The presser foot will eventually stop at the material (about 1.5–2 cm from the bottom). While sewing, make sure the inner part doesn't slip and is always caught in the seam. The next step is to attach the snap fastener. You will need the following materials:

The Vario pliers are a great purchase in any case, as they make attaching snap fasteners, eyelets, and other Prym products very easy. Instructions are on the back of the packaging.
