How to Make a Pleated Dumpling Pouch.
Plump and juicy, these dumpling pouches are just like those juicy dumplings! Perfect for storing everything!
The quilting is also superb, making these dumpling pouches even more comfortable to hold!
It's perfect for carrying cosmetics, and if you're a seamstress, it's also great as a sewing pouch!
Cut a circle the size you want.
For the lining, I used scrap fabric left over from a previous project. It's a cotton pigment fabric, so it's a bit thick.
Outer fabric, quilting cotton, lining. I used the thick quilting cotton I had on hand, but it was a bit difficult to make. ㅠㅠ I recommend using a thinner quilting cotton, around 2-3 ounces.
I quilted the outer fabric with quilting cotton and lining at the same time, then quilted it with a diamond pattern. The Singer machine worked wonders here, too!
The circular perimeter is made by stitching with two layers of strong thread to create pleats. I used two layers of thick 5mm felt thread. It would be a hassle if it broke while pulling...
Place the bias tape on the top of the pleated section and sew it into a ball.
Attach the zipper to the inside of the bias tape.
Chewy, chewy dumpling pouch complete! When you open the zipper, the inside is quite spacious.
It's so cute... I made two: one to use as a cosmetic pouch, and the other to use as a sewing pouch like this. What do you think? Pretty, isn't it?
