Materials:
Outer fabric: approx. 16 cm x 18 cm
Inner fabric: approx. 16 cm x 45 cm
1 button
Scrap of yarn or cord
Cutting:
Cut out Part 1 (outer piece) with a seam allowance of approximately 0.75 cm.
Cut out Parts 2 and 3 (inner pieces) on the fold (see pattern) with a seam allowance of approximately 0.75 cm. Press the fold on both pieces.
Place the short edges of the outer piece together and press a crease. This will serve as a guide later on.
For the fastening, crochet a small cord 8–10 cm long using the leftover yarn.
Alternatively, the ribbon can also be braided. If you prefer, you can use a cord.
Mark the center of one of the short sides of the outer part.
Now, the prepared ribbon is sewn on using a small zigzag stitch, with the loop facing inwards.
If you like, you can sew on a woven ribbon.
The inner parts are placed onto the right side of the outer part. The smaller piece (Part 2) is positioned on the side with the small ribbon. The fabric folds face each other.
Sew along the entire length, keeping the edge aligned with the presser foot.
The seam allowances are finished with a zigzag stitch, and the corners are trimmed.
The piece is now turned right side out. The corners must be carefully pushed out to define them sharply. The tissue holder is topstitched close to the edge.
Now, a seam is sewn over the crease that was pressed in.
The tissue case is folded shut, the loop is positioned towards the front, and a mark is made for the button.
Sew on a button. Load the tissues.
