Some time ago, I found this pattern on Pinterest—the small version, a coin purse. With Mother's Day coming up, I decided to revisit the project and create a larger version.

These are the full-size patterns.

Cut out the paper patterns.

For the first one, you can proceed in two ways: either place the edge with the straight line along the fabric fold and cut through the double layer of fabric, or trace the pattern onto the edge of a folded sheet of paper so that, once cut out, you have the full pattern piece.

For each pattern piece, cut two sections—one for the outer layer and one for the lining—plus one piece of interfacing; this can be iron-on interfacing or the type used to stiffen men's shirt collars.

After attaching the interfacing, take the flap pieces, place them right sides together, and sew along the markings, leaving the bottom edge open. Make small notches in the curved sections.

Do the same with the larger pieces: after positioning the padding, sew right sides together along the entire perimeter, leaving an opening of about 20 cm where the flap will later be inserted. Here, too, make small notches along the curved sections.

Always sew right sides together, leaving an opening large enough to turn the piece right side out.

Once sewn, turn the piece right side out, press well, and topstitch along the edges; for the flap, it is not necessary to topstitch the bottom edge.

For the large piece as well, after sewing, turn the work right side out and press thoroughly; then insert the flap into the previously left opening, secure it with pins, and topstitch around the entire perimeter.

Now, transfer all the pattern markings onto the inner lining using an erasable or vanishing pen.

Align the center line and secure it with a seam.

Following the lines indicated on the pattern, position the inner piece and secure it with clips.

Sew a seam of approximately 2 cm where the clips were placed; there are four seams in total on each side.

If you wish to add a cuff, attach an eyelet to the back using the appropriate tools.

To make the cuff, cut a 6 x 32 cm rectangle, insert the snap hook, and sew the short ends together, right sides facing. Press the long side in half, then press the edges inward.

Sew along the entire perimeter on both sides, then sew below the carabiner to secure it in place.

Attach two snap fasteners using the appropriate pliers, taking care to center them accurately.

If you want to customize the pouch further, you can add an appliqué to the flap; in this case, I used my usual sketch appliqué technique.

Here is the finished project; I hope you enjoyed it and found it useful.
