I love this natural cotton material, beautiful, strong, durable, stylish, comfortable! And now the model of the bag was born, you can go to the beach and go shopping with it.
So, we will need:
a pair of old tight jeans similar in color;
cotton rope with a diameter of 6 to 8 mm;
grommets with a diameter of 8 mm - 8 pieces;
the threads are strong.
We need a sewing machine for medium and heavy fabrics, since the number of stitched layers will reach 6. The feature of this bag is in the bound seam (and not only!), it will decorate our purse, and hide all the shaggy allowances!
6 mm punch hole;
press for installation of metal fittings;
chalk or soap for marking.
Cut off 4 legs from the jeans and cut them lengthwise
We cut off the seams from them, in my case-this is a seam with two lines
I have shown 4, but will need two such strips of length of approx. 70 cm
From two such pants we make blanks for the walls of the bag, their sizes are 64 by 38, in the folded state 38 by 32.
Round off the bottom corners of the bag walls
We cut off the allowance of 1 cm, as shown in the photo, only from the wall that will be considered the wrong side of the wall of the bag
We sew 2 lines at the top.
We decorate the walls, stitching through (I opened the pocket from the jeans and attached it to one of the walls of the bag, and drew the rest as my soul wished, and stitched it).
The walls of the bag are ready, now we will deal with the side parts of the bag.
You need to carve out 2 parts in size 50 x 19, and 2 more in size 50 x 17 cm.
Stitch them together in short sections and stitch them off.
And now connect these 2 long parts with a cutting seam in the way shown in the photo. Important: you need to have the finished length of this side of the bag was 94.5 cm.
Make a decorative seam on the side part, pre-marking, it still performs a sealing function.
Now, when all the parts of the bag are ready for assembly, we sew them with their front sides to each other, without taking the wrong side of the walls and side parts into the seam.
We turn out the bag, and now, the responsible task is to chip off the allowances, making sure that the wrong side necessarily gets into this seam (I did not get it in one place)
Sew 2 stitches on the sides and bottom of the bag
Inside it turns out like this
We plan and make holes with the punch number 6, as shown in the photo. These holes are made through the entire bag
Installing the grommets
It's on the side
When the grommets are installed, we cut off the rope-a rope with a length of 143 cm (to cut it off, first you need to wrap the place of the cut with tape, and make a cut in the middle of this tape).
We pass a rope through the holes and sew the ends, overlapping each other approx. 8 cm. I started in the middle, followed the line to the right, then to the end to the left, and then back to the middle
Alternatively, you can weave the rope yourself
We begin to make a braid for the handles of the bag, for this we will cut the threads from our ribbons.
Step back from the middle about 7 cm and wrap the rope in this ribbon
We sew the ends of the ribbons with a thread to match
On the opposite side of the rope, we do the same.
That's it, my purse is ready!
