Instructions:
- Cut the brown fabric as shown in Photo 1, leaving a 0.75 cm seam allowance only on the two pointed ends. (Photo 1)

- Sew the two pointed ends and turn them right-side out. Quilt the body of the butterfly. (Photo 2)

Trim the two wings, stitch, clip the curves, and turn right side out. (photos 3)

- Prepare the appliqués as shown in photo 4. Press, then baste them in place at the designated positions.

Baste all the appliqués in place. They can be sewn by hand—making the stitching invisible—or by machine using a blanket stitch. Next, position the two wings on the brown section and finish the edges of the entire piece. (photos 5)

From a different fabric, cut a strip of bias tape approximately 1 meter long and 4 cm wide. Baste it onto both of the butterfly’s wings, then turn it right-side out as shown in photos 6.
Use the remaining bias tape to create a loop, and attach it to the back. The potholder is now complete; to use it, simply slide your fingers into the two "wings."
It makes a lovely decorative addition to the kitchen and is also practical for handling hot dishes without getting burned. You can easily hang it up near your stovetop or oven.
