How to make Fabric Yo Yos

How to Sew a Basic Fabric Yo-Yo. Fabric Yo-Yo Tutorial.

Here are some photos of the yo-yo making process. Draw a circle the size you want on the outer surface of the fabric. For reference, mine is 6.5cm in diameter. Cut the seam allowance to 0.7cm.

As shown in the photo, press down firmly with your hand around the circumference of the circle and fold it. You can do it quickly by folding it little by little.

As shown in the photo below, with the seam allowance folded, start from the inside, at a point 0.2 cm inside the circle, and tie a double knot with the thread.

The visible stitches should be shorter, and the inside should be slightly longer... If the fabric is thick, make the stitches larger. If the fabric is thin, make the stitches smaller. You can create a beautiful yo-yo. The photos below show the front and back.

When completing one full rotation, carefully calculate the interval between each stroke. This is the key to creating a beautiful yo-yo.

When you return to the starting point, pass it through the knot.

Pull the thread all the way. Pull it hard to make a thick knot.

Just shape it nicely and you're done~~~~ It's so easy

You can use a similar method for heart-shaped yo-yos and flower-shaped ones, but just cut the concave portions with scissors. The rest can be done the same way. Also, if your desired yo-yo size is 3cm, then double the diameter of the circle, or 6cm. Use this as a guide and make your own beautiful yo-yo!
