How to sew a denim bag with flap, decorated with a patchwork block "Monkey's Paw". Photo Sewing Tutorial. Do you have old jeans? Let's give them a new life!
For bags, we need two patches of jeans contrasting colors, scissors, needle and thread, zipper, lining fabric, paper, tracing paper, fleece, ruler.
Make a pattern out of paper: basis for bags and flap
Let's begin with flap bag. On paper the pattern flap impose tracing paper and draw a pattern. Because we use contrasting fabric, it should be noted (shade).
We measure internal squares, take into account the allowances for seams, cut out two strips, of which sew two color square.
Attach it in the center of the pin bases by combining lines of central strings with central lines in the illustration (do not forget about color matching).
Next are measuring one of the triangles, following the central square, we add at the seams and cut a triangle from the fabric the color you want.
Pinned, stitched by turning away, ironed, dub. And so consistently, the other triangles.
The result is such a beauty.
Remove the paper (it can be easily removed).
Fasten patchwork set on adhesive base (interlining, dublerin), make decorative stitch and customize the pattern on the valve. Sew edge (if desired), cut out the lining of denim and sew to face a patchwork valve parts.
Wrenched, iron, stitch on on the edge. The valve is ready.
Getting to the base of the bag. Take the pattern and cut out 4 pieces of denim and 4 parts of the lining fabric. On one of the parts can be made of jeans pocket (it will backrest).
Sew the handle and insert the strap in denim (squares 6x6 cm, folded in half).
I use buckles, rivets, eyelets and other metal parts. Their installation requires no special tools.
Now collect the bag. Take two denim items (no pockets), applying them to face each other. We transfer the pattern to the inner seam line and sew.
Take back piece (the one in my pocket), is metered from the top 3 cm, draw a line that is applied to it and flap ready to sew, departing from the edge of the valve 0.3 cm.
To turn away the face and paving decorative stitch, retreating 0.5 cm.
Pinned the crossbar, which is attached handle, at a distance of 3 cm from the top of the "back" of the bag.
The lower panel of the central part of putting a "back" and sew them together. What would be the top panel accidentally fell under the needle, tuck the edges and stab pins.
Wrenched, to make incisions in the corners - half bag ready.
Now pinned up finished edge (rear) half, putting a front part of the bag, face down and stitched by the same way as the back (do not forget about the insert!). Incised corners gut-wrenching.
Go to the lining. Two details of a cut we put face to face and sew around the perimeter. So did the other two parts. It turns out two bags. Login folded the bag 1 cm, basting and for some time put off to the side.
Take the zipper is applied to the inlet of the bag, add 5-6 cm, cut.
At the entrance of the bag on both sides of the side seams is metered at 1.5 cm to the center, making the label.
Pinned the zipper, neatly tucked its beginning.
Edge-stitched by 0.7 cm to mark the end of the lightning. Repeat the operation on the other side.
Accurately folded the inside 0.7-0.8 cm edge of both bags departments, including those to which zipper sewn, basting.
Now take the previously embroidered pouches of lining, invest (no twisting) in each department bags, jeans and tack to do in the face of each card line.
We put on the zipper slider and tail-stop denim.
Install the grommets on the bag, belt.
