Materials:
light pink fleece
dark pink fleece
9 cm elastic 1 cm width
2 black or brown buttons
light pink zipper 14 cm long
dark pink knitting yarn
2 pink plastic slider rings 10 mm
20 cm long and 25 cm width piece of fabric for the small pocket
fiberfill
Print the pattern.
The pattern includes seam allowances 5 mm.
- ‘arms’ with hoofs
- belly with ‘legs' and hoofs and zipper, tail
- back with ‘legs’ and hoofs
- head, nose and ears
- stitch the zipper in
- make the small pocket
- stitch one side of the fabric on the zipper
- do the same on the other side
- Fold the fabric double to create the small pocket
- make the tail
- fold the fabric double outside in
- lay the piece of elastic into the folded fabric
- stitch small side with the elastic together
- stitch the long side of the tail without stitching
- turn the tail
- now carefully move the ‘long tail’ upwards to the point of the tail until the tail is 9 cm
- you now have a nice curly tail
- lay the tail between the belly seams (tail point marked at pattern)
- stitch the seam of the bottom of the belly
- stitch the seam of the upper of the belly
- close the small pocket under and above
- stitch the seam of the noose
- mark the middle of both noose piece
- stitch both parts together
- stitch the front seams of the head
- stitch the back seam leaving a piece un-sewn so you can turn the pig
- place the noose in the fase side of the head
- stitch the noose on the head
- the inner ear is slightly smaller then the outer ear
- stretch the fabric of the inner ear a little bit and pin together
- stitch the ears together
- turn the ear
- a little bit of the outer ear will now be visible on the side of the inner ear
- lay both ears on the back head between the two notches on each side of the head
- pin ears on head
- lay the front head on the back head
- pin front and back head together
- sew together
- don’t sew the neckline
Making the nostrils
- lay one of the plastic slider rings 10 mm on the nose
- make stitches going from the inside the slider ring to the outside of the slider ring with a double thread of dark pink knitting yarn
- make the second nostril using the same methode
- lay the head aside
- it’s now time to make the arms
- stitch the hoofs on the upper part of the ‘arms’
- stitch both ‘arms’
- don’t stitch the ‘armpit’
- turn the ‘arm’
- stuff the 'arms' with fiberfill
- lay both ‘arms on the back body head between the two notches on each side of the back body
- pin ‘arms’ on the back body
- lay the front body on the back body
- pin back and front body together
- sew together going from one side over de legs to the other side
- don’t sew the neckline
- turn the body
- pin the front of the head on the backside of body
- stitch from one side to the other
- use the opening in the back head piece to stitch the other side of the neck
- stuff the rag doll pig with fiberfill
- do the ‘legs’, body first and then the head
- close the back head using a ladder stitch
- give the rag doll pig eyes
- use the buttons
- stitch the buttons on the marked places that you can find on the front head pattern piece
- if you want you can give the pig also a navel using the dark pink knitting yarn
