I decided to use the jeans that had been sitting in my closet for slippers - I finally think they've gotten too small 😅 I used the legs so I could finish the repairs. I had some nice, flexible insoles lying around, which I initially thought of sewing onto the soles of the slippers, but ended up leaving them loose.

First I drew the sole of my foot on paper and cut it out with about 0.5cm seam allowance. When cutting the fabric I added a few more mm seam allowance.

I cut the upper by placing the fabric on the foot at the appropriate point.

Next, I cut strips of fabric from the legs (I also needed other jeans) for the backs of the slippers. I first cut them roughly to the right size and then adjusted them to their shape with pins and cut them to fit better.

After shaping the back of the slippers, it is a good idea to pin the top to the bottom (right sides together) and then pin the sides of the back piece to the same pins. - I first sewed the entire back + side, but I unstitched the stitches so that the top was at the bottom (it will turn to the front when the slipper is right side up).

NOTE: The side pieces are the right length when they are approximately where they are in the picture above! If they are too long, they will pinch your toes.

If you want, you can sew the seams to the bottom - as well as the side seams. I didn't sew them myself, I just slipped the insoles inside the slippers.

Super comfortable slippers 💗 I made these slippers from stretch jeans and it seems to be at least somewhat impressive - they are wonderfully flexible, yet sturdy and, thanks to the insole, comfortable even on cooler floors.

Here are the patterns for the slippers, if it helps. It may be a good idea to adjust the size by at least fitting the sole to your own foot.

NOTE: you will probably have to shorten the back+side part of the pattern, which comes behind the heel and continues to the sides towards the foot! Shorten it so that it ends before the toes (see a few pictures of the buttonhole model above). Print the patterns without borders (borderless printing).

Update...

I sewed one pair of slippers in a slightly smaller size for my mother. I still had enough jeans leg with hems for the top. I cut the back+side parts from whatever fabric I had and similar pieces from jersey fabric. Because I wanted the jersey to be visible, the denim part remained as a lining.
