How to Sew a Zip Pencil Case | Easy DIY Zipper Pouch Tutorial for Beginners. EASY Back-To-School Pencil Pouch!
Surprisingly, these pencil cases have the best storage capacity.
Rings are placed on both sides of the zipper for easy opening and closing.
The bottom of the pencil case is made of a single-color fabric for a clean look.
1 piece of solid-colored fabric for outer and lining: (1cm seam allowance + 23cm seam allowance + 1cm seam allowance) * (1cm seam allowance + 18cm seam allowance + 1cm seam allowance)
2 pieces of patterned fabric: (1cm seam allowance + 23cm seam allowance + 1cm seam allowance) * (1cm seam allowance + 3.5cm seam allowance + 1cm seam allowance)
1 piece of quilted fabric: 23cm x 18cm
2 pieces of zipper loop fabric: 6cm x 4cm
After cutting the fabrics
Place the patterned fabric over the solid-colored fabric. Sew the arrow-marked ends to secure.
And then put the zipper on one end and sew it.
Zipper the opposite end of the fabric. Sew again to create a cylindrical shape.
For the loop fabric to attach to the zipper end, fold in half, leaving a 0.5cm seam allowance on each side, and sew.
Fold the loop fabric in half and insert it between the outer fabric and the zipper. Sew along the seam allowance (arrow mark).
Then, press and sew the ends of the fabric 2cm apart, both horizontally and vertically. Do this four times, repeating the same process for each corner of the pencil case.
Once the stitching is complete, cut off the corner ends.
If you flip it over so that the outer surface is visible, it will look like this.
Please attach a leather label in the center.
After wrapping the quilted fabric with the lining, sew both ends, leaving a gap for the zipper.
Then, as with the outer fabric, sew each seam 2cm apart. Trim the corners with scissors and trim.
Place the lining inside the outer fabric and sew the bottom of the zipper to secure it.
your pencil case is complete.
It would have been much easier to just work on the outer lining, but adding the lining resulted in a neat and sturdy pencil case.
