The fabric for this basket was bought at Ikea. Because the fabric has many colorful patterns, the basket will also be correspondingly colorful.

This is what the basket looks like from above. The pattern is created randomly, making each basket unique.

Craft supplies - making a fabric basket

Colorful fabric
Clothesline, 5 mm thick
Hot glue gun
Ruler
Rotary cutter
Cutting mat

First, cut 3cm strips of fabric.

Then a strip is glued diagonally around one end of the rope.

The strip is then wrapped diagonally around the rope until it reaches a length of approximately 15-20 cm.

Bend the end piece over and glue it on.

Then twist the end into a spiral and glue it in place. Hold the end short until the glue dries to prevent it from coming loose again.

Then continue rotating and gluing the spiral. Always glue it on from the side so that the base grows.

While gluing, it is also advisable to press the circle against the table so that the base remains flat and does not warp.

When there's no more fabric on the line, the end is glued down. Then a new piece is simply glued on.

Then simply continue wrapping the fabric around the line as before.

Once the base is the desired size, it's time to shape the side walls.

Mark the beginning with a pin or similar object.

Then, instead of attaching the cord to the side, glue it to the top or diagonally on top of the outer layer of the base plate, depending on how steep you want the sides of the basket to be. Continue in this way until you finish. The angle of the basket is entirely up to you. This allows you to decide whether the basket should resemble a bowl or a vertical basket.

This basket should resemble a bowl. The next rows are always glued on slightly offset towards the outside.

The basket has slowly reached the desired height. Where the beginning is found, the end will also be.

Cut the end at an angle.

And then stick it on so that it tapers off flat.

You can cut off any protruding threads with scissors.
